Pink Day Trip

Dear Friends,

Today the hubby and I took a day trip to one of our favorite spots. It's called Gasaprilla Island or also known as Boca Grande. It is a place tourist, vacationers and snowbirds love to visit.

I'm so excited to share a few Pink things that I came across.

Do you notice the pink flowers at the base of the sign?

The first thing I came across was a Pink gas pump! Yep, it's really pink! I don't recall where I saw this! I was too excited to just see the pink! It was a little diner as you can tell by the hot lunches sign.

Above you saw the sign for a restaurant called "The Pink Elephant" . We didn't end up eating there as we didn't think we were dressed appropriately. I took a picture as it was dark, hopefully you can see the sign. See the link above.


There were these pink flowers that I can't remember what they are called, as it's late and I'm tired posting this. Ahhh!

Don't think that's the same picture, but sure looks like a duplicate!

A Humid Tea!

Dear Friends,

It's been a couple of stormy days here in Florida. There is a tropical storm out in the gulf that has just been spinning around and around. We've had lots of rain and wind. It's been dreary. We are not use to this as Florida is known as the "sunshine state." The rain has been a blessing in some areas, but it is so humid! Below is the "foo-foo" room.

Tonight I went in there and the humidity had to be 100% or more! The room is not under a/c.

I quickly shut the door. Here are pics I took a week ago when it was pleasant to be in there.

This is a front view of the bronze color tea set. The teacup was a gift to me. It's one of my favorites.

I love this darling little tea book called an "Afternoon Tea".

Here's a close up of the tea set. I bought this at a thrift store for $14.00. I thought it was a good deal.

Here's a view looking towards my little sitting area. I should have cropped the picture. I found the curtains at the same thrift store and have some dried roses hanging upside down. I had to save them! They were pink!.

June Bridal Tea cup

Dear Friends,

I want to thank each of you for following me! It's exciting to see the numbers go up from week to week. Tablescapes are fun and I love having a creative outlet at this time in my life.

A dear friend recently gave me a place setting of her mother's Bridal Rose teacup, saucer and small plate. I was so honored that she wanted to give this to me, so that is what I'm highlighting for this week's Pink Saturday and Tea Time Tuesday.

A pretty pink plate that can be hung. It's very delicate trimmed in gold.
I love telling the story about how I got this tea cup and saucer. I found it and a few other sets in my neighbors trash when she moved. I'm not kidding! How could she do that?

I made this napkin ring out of silk flowers. The napkins are vintage from an antique store put with pink paper napkins for more color.

Apple Table top

Today I'm sharing pics of our breakfast nook. Our kitchen is decorated with apples. When we moved into our current home I wanted a homey feel to the kitchen and loved the pop of the red color against green.

It's cheerful and country! Hope you enjoy them.

Pink Tea for Two

A cute little book - fits nicely on the table!

Hi Friends,

Hoping you had a great week! It's been really hot here and humid. It's just too hot to be outside for garden teas, etc. So, I've been enjoying my pinks in my "Foo-foo" room as I call it.

Every morning I've been having breakfast in this room. It doesn't get unbearable until later in the afternoon. I open the sliders and turn the ceiling fan on and it's quite comfortable.

So, here are pics of my pinks on a little table that I re-did a few years ago. I painted it white. It was dirty, dusty and tan. It cleaned up nicely.

Tea for Me!

Hi All,


Sometimes at night I like to fix a nice tray with cookies or something with tea before bedtime.

I have to take medication and it settles a little better with food in my stomach.

This is a recent setting I made for myself.

I love the lamp. It was one of my thrift store finds and just love the tassel on it. I picked that up from you ladies!

Summer has come to South Florida with the humidity. Hot tea just makes me feel hotter! Thank goodness for A/C.

It's so good to be back visiting with you all! I'm still having trouble lining this post properly. Blogspot has gone and changed things since I blogged last. :(

A few of my favorite things....

Dear Friends, It's been quite awhile since I joined the Pink Saturday. So, I'm joining this week. How I've missed it. Life has been busy and challenging like I shared in my earlier post. There is a song that I like the title to, "Life is Hard, but God is good." This song is sung by Pam Thumb, a Christian artist. God is my source of strength and I trust and lean on Him. I'm sharing some of my favorite pinks. I hope that you'll enjoy them as I have. It's raining like cats and dogs here....but at least our grass is growing again and everything is turning green! My hope and prayer is that you will have a wonderful and blessed week! I'm really out of practice on getting everything lined up properly! Yikes. Mr. Wonderful and I

Hi Friends, In my last post I mentioned that I'd been in a funk. I was typing on my Ipad in the earlier post and found it difficult to type on a screen. It's much easier on a regular keyboard. That's how I learned to type on a typewriter...old school! LOL This year has brought some challenges, but it's all good! Our eldest daughter moved away in March and the youngest had already moved out the year before. Dealing with health issues and trying new medications has been part of the funk I guess and the "empty nest" on top of it. Decorating and doing tablescapes was away for me to share with my family, but it's me and Mr. Wonderful and two fur babies. Just wasn't feeling it...and didn't feel they would care. :) We've had a Goodwill come to town and I've been shopping to decorate the empty bedrooms that are now an office and guest rooom. I realize that's part of life...but didn't realize that it would be as difficult this time around (they both left when they went away to college). So, time has pass and life goes on... I"ll be sharing with you what I've been doing in future post. Hoping you have a great week and I'll be back soon! Hugs,

Hi friends, I've been in funk I guess for awhile now and haven't posted anything. It's time to get involved again in blogging, this will be short and sweet but you'll be hearing from from me again. I've been doing tablescapes and decorating just haven't taken the time to take pictures or write about them. It's June and half the year is almost over! Where has the time gone?
