A Thankful Heart

If you listen to the news it can be very disturbing. This morning getting ready for church we had FOX news on and heard they are predicting our country will be going into a depression. We've heard and read about this in the past and never thought it would be possible or happen again in the United States.

No matter what happens as a child of the king our heavenly Father has promised He would never leave us nor forsake us or that His seed would be begging for bread. We have to trust that He is going to see us through and take care of our situation.

I spoke with a lady at our church today and she said she had to let go of her rental property because she couldn't keep renters to pay the mortgage and didn't have the finances. She is a widow and lost her husband's income when he passed away last year. She was quick to say, thank the Lord I still have a home and He is taking care of me.

We've all been guilty of living above our means and buying with plastic those things we thought we had to have and now can't even remember what we bought. If we are tithers we can claim His promises and His word to meet our needs... not our wants.

Regardless of what we're facing we need to have a thankful heart, not for what we don't have, but for what we do have. We all have so much! So this week as we celebrate Thanksgiving pause and give Him thanks for the many blessings that He's given to all of us, and trust that He will see us through those tough times.

God showed up!

We had our Fall Escape event this past Saturday. Marsha Woolley, our women's ministries director for Pen-Florida was our guest speaker.

It turned out to be a beautiful day. I was thrilled that we had such a great turn out from all the churches in section 13. Our churches from Sarasota to Punta Gorda came.

The day began with a light breakfast and coffee. We then moved to the sanctuary where we gave away awesome door prizes. Diana Halbolm, my friend that attends our church donated beautiful prints of originals that her husband Danny painted. You can check out his work here. His latest piece is stunning called the Bride of Christ. They had it on display in our lobby saturday for Fall Escape and our services on sunday. We were able to present a beauitful print to Marsha for her to enjoy.

The praise and worship and ministry of Marsha Woolley was beautiful. God did show up and many ladies were ministered and touched by his presence. That's what it's all about!

Special thanks to everyone that came and that helped make the day successful!

Beauty for Ashes

Cindy Nelson is a part of our church where my husband and I pastor. The Lord brought Cindy to Gulf Coast Assembly and He has done a great work in her life. She had the opportunity to be interviewed by Erin Campbell of Water Through the Word Ministries. Please click on the link below and hear her interview.

Please note that some of the material in this interview is not intended for children.

"Beauty for Ashes" Cindy Nelson airs Sunday, Nov. 16th - 7:30am

"My father didn't play in ways that was normal for a child of 6 years of age."- Cindy Nelson speaks on Water through the Word RADIO From the outside looking in, Cindy functioned as a normal, happy child. All her friends, teachers and extended family members thought she lived in home filled with great love and acceptance, but the truth of what was really happening at home would remain hidden for years. Today, Cindy shares for the first time in public, the real life experiences she suffered as a child of an alcoholic father. This story ends with great HOPE! Miraculously, the moment Cindy met her Lord Jesus Christ, all the painful memories and broken self image would begin to be supernatural healed! God has truly given her beauty for ashes.

WARNING: Because of the sensitive nature of this discussion, we strongly urge parental responsibility while listening to this story in the presence of children. Listen to Cindy Nelson's show now! Check out her blog on my blog list called In God's Love.

FALL ESCAPE IS NEXT WEEK!

Hi Ladies,

I'd like to remind you that our Section 13 Fall Escape will be next Saturday, November 15th.

We are excited about Marsha Woolley coming and sharing with us. She walks in an anointing that each of you and the ladies of your church need to sit under! I encourage you to bring a group from your church.

There is no charge for this event, but a love offering will be taken to cover a few expenses and we will bless Marsha with the remainder.

I'd love to hear from you this week and know how many ladies you are bringing. Check out the poster next to this blog entry. You may click on it to enlarge the poster.

This event will begin at 9:30 am with light refreshments. Our event will then begin at 10:00 in the sanctuary at Gulf Coast Assembly of God. There will be no child-care for this event.

You will be blessed and ministered by Marsha's ministry! I hope to see you there!

T'was the night before the Election

Dear Lord,

I don't know what the future holds for us in this country, but nothing takes you by surprise. Your coming must be very soon. Times are becoming difficult for your people. You know my heart Lord, I ask for your mercy. You said, you'd never leave us nor forsake us. We need you now more than ever.

Desperate times call for desperate actions. We're not there yet, maybe just desperate for idols or things that we've put before you. We're not hungry and thirsty for your righteousness.

Lord forgive me. Lord forgive us.

Feeling like Aqua

Hi Everyone! This spring season I've noticed everywhere I go the stores are decorating with teal, aqua and pretty greens.  March mark...
