Bird's & Tablescapes

Greetings Ladies,

There are two tablescapes that I'm highlighting this week.  One in the entry way of my living room and the other in my special room (foo-foo) I call it.

The book I'm quoting from is in display in my special room.  I turned to today's entry and it's so appropriate I thought.  Hope you enjoy it!

From:  Soul Retreats for Women
Beauty in the Ordinary, pg. 92-93, quoting only a portion.

"See the beauty in the ordinary.  Slow down and breathe the fragrance of the ordinary, the everyday things that sit along life's way.  Remind yourself often to stop and smell the flowers."

"As you enjoy the ordinary, songs will flow from your heart. As you delight in a rose growing in your neighbor's garden or a bird warbling on the telephone wire, you will take delight in observing the extraordinary ordinary."

He has made everything beautiful in its time.  He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end.  Ecclesiates 3:11

It's hard to see, but the basket looks like a bird nest.  It was a gift!  Love it!

This darling teapot was a gift too.  It's called Spring Social.  Love the bird on top!

Love this little white bird.  He's been in many of my tablescapes.

Purple foo foo room tablescape.

Another picture.  I like the wire teacup too.

This is a cute teacup.  Can't really drink out of it.  It's called Napco.

Like the greenery with the purple flowers.

"God can paint rich hues on the misty memories of my past.  He can shine a guiding ray on my choices for the future.  But God's love reigns best when he, in nearness, holds this very moment in his hand. "  Charlotte Adelsperger

Pic's from my very first tablescape

Greetings Ladies,

We've been so busy that I've not had an opportunity to play and make tablescapes or tabletops for that matter.  It's official our daughter moved today.

I went back quickly to see if I had pictures of tablescapes or tabletops I've not highlighted and found the first one I ever did and actually took pictures of.

My first introduction to tablescaping was on the Food Network with Sandra Lee Semi-Homemade.  She always showed beautiful tablescapes that went along with the themed foods she would make.  I googled tablescapes and that's all it took!  That's how I found many of you and the rest is history!

So, I'm showing you my very first tablescape.  My pictures weren't the best, but I was proud of my first endeavor featuring a Valentine tablescape.

Valentine Table for two!  I was so proud of this table!  Loved the gold chargers and gold flatware.  Not bad for a beginner!

Loved the red goblets.  I borrowed those from my girls.
Adding this last one is for good measure.  A tabletop outside on the front porch.

Time stands still for No one!

Greetings Ladies,

This week brings a lot of change in our family but it is all good!  Indeed, life stands still for no one!

We get married and have children.  When they are little you don't think they'll ever get potty-trained and then they start school.  They graduate from high school then on to college, get a job and bam they leave home.

So, that is where I am this week....facing the little bird flying away....I've done my part and have done the best I knew how.  I have to leave the rest in God's hands.  I know He'll take good care of them.

I just said to my hubby, well, it's back to you and me!  We're gonna have to take care of and wait on each other.  He said, "I'll be glad to wait on you."  :-)

Here's a few of my pink items for Pink Saturday.  I hope you enjoy them.

A sweet friend gave me this teacup and saucer.  It is called Dusky Pink Lace, Old Country Roses by Royal Albert.

A cute little trinket box with rosebud and lace in my special room.

I believe there's a theme going on here.....roses!  I'm not really good at assembling flowers but I try!

A woman's guide to:  Joy for the journey.  Love looking at this book for inspiration.

Found this pink lamp at a thrift shop recently.  I don't care for the lamp shade too much... am looking for just the right one.  Hopefully, we will find each other!

One of our beautiful sunsets in the Fall!  Oh, Fall how I wish you were here! Isn't the pink beautiful?

I'm hooking up with Beverly at How Sweet the Sound for Pink Saturday! Be sure and check out other blogs highlighted!

Feelin' Blue

Greetings Ladies,
I thought this week it would be fun to highlight two of my friends tablescapes.  The first one is from this year's Tea we had at my church.  Marcia  hosted and decorated her table in blues and it was so pretty.

The second tablescape is from Cindy in her home.  I guess she's got the tablescaping bug too!  I love her blue table too and the china is her mother's.

The blue flowers were from a winery we visited in Virginia on the grounds.  The flowers were just beautiful!

Last, but not least one of my favorite pictures from our trip to Virginia.  This view is gorgeous in the Appalacian mountains on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

I will lift up my eyes to the hills-- from where comes my help? My  help comes from the Lord!  Psalm 121:1

It's looking a lot like pink!

Hi Ladies,

Last week I really wanted to be part of this party but didn't make it!  I'm late this week but as the saying goes "better late than never".

Hope you are staying cool in these hot summer temps!

I'm hooking up with Beverly at How Sweet the Sound for Pink Saturday! Be sure and check out other blogs highlighted!

Pretty pink throw I found at a Thrift store while away.

This is my life savor right now!  It's a fan I keep at my computer!  Isn't is adorable?

A pink Christmas Oranment my MIL gave me.  I keep it up all year!

I love this plush fluffy pillow in my special room!

A tea cup on my nightstand just in case!

A Wedgewood teacup, saucer and dessert plate from friends years ago.

Last but not least a sweet teacup with gold spoon in my special room.  It's sitting on a dollie that my mom had as a little girl in her bedroom.  It has little pink flowers.  Very delicate.

Hugs,

Feeling like Aqua

Hi Everyone! This spring season I've noticed everywhere I go the stores are decorating with teal, aqua and pretty greens.  March mark...
